"It's not that I want to kill those people; I'm not a monster. I'm just not that dramatic about them dying in case it's necessary for my plans."
King Sorin the Great, The First of His Name

Far away, in a remote corner of the empire, King Sorin is the charismatic yet deeply flawed king of Aragonia. He is about to perform the first step in his grand plan to dethrone the emperor and take his place when everything around him begins to fall apart.

Nevertheless, Sorin is determined to overcome the obstacles and fulfill his plan (without compromising his afternoon nap routine). He is dragged through a series of hilarious twists and turns while sharing his unique perspective of the events and the useless people surrounding his greatness with the readers.

In the vibrant yet turbulent urban landscapes of Los Angeles and NYC, follows the entangled lives of Vincent "Vinnie" Jackson, a ruthless African American gangster, and his cunning side chick, Isabella "Bella" Thompson. As Vinnie rises to power as a feared drug lord, Bella's once passionate affair with him turns into a burning ambition to seize control of his empire, setting in motion a treacherous saga of betrayal, backstabbing, and side chicks.

Detective Marcus Sullivan, also an African American, becomes an essential figure in this urban drama. Driven by a personal vendetta against Vinnie and determined to bring him to justice, Detective Sullivan faces the complexities of policing in marginalized communities, where racism and police brutality are constant threats.

Amidst the brewing storm, Vinnie's younger brother, Alessandro "Alex" Jackson, finds himself torn between loyalty to his family and a desire to seek justice for the African American community suffering due to Vinnie's criminal activities.

Within the Romano family, an African American family deeply connected to their urban community, Mama Romano senses Bella's deceit, grappling with the consequences of their actions on their community and her own family.

As Bella's web of manipulation expands, alliances are formed and broken, igniting a city-wide gang war and heightening racial tensions. Trust is shattered, and hidden alliances are revealed, leading to shocking betrayals and unexpected alliances. The characters must navigate a dangerous world where loyalty is a luxury and deceit is a way of survival.

Detective Sarah Martinez, a fellow African American officer from NYC, becomes entangled in a web of corruption and betrayal within the police force, further complicating the pursuit of justice.

Amidst the intense drama and action, the trilogy delves deep into philosophical themes that underpin the characters' motivations and actions, shaping their journey:

Moral Dilemmas: As the characters grapple with issues of loyalty, justice, and ambition, they are forced to confront moral dilemmas. Vinnie, Bella, Alex, and Detective Sullivan are all faced with decisions that challenge their principles and force them to examine the consequences of their actions on their communities and themselves.

Power and Corruption: The pursuit of power and the corrupting nature of power are central themes in the trilogy. Vinnie's thirst for control and Bella's manipulations demonstrate how power can consume and change individuals, leading to destructive consequences for all involved.

Redemption and Forgiveness: The characters' actions are driven by their desire for redemption and forgiveness, both from others and themselves. Throughout the trilogy, they grapple with the complexities of finding forgiveness in a world filled with violence and deception.

Identity and Community: The characters' identities are closely tied to their communities, and the struggles they face are reflective of the broader societal issues affecting African American communities in urban environments. Themes of identity, race, and community pride are explored as the characters navigate their roles within their families and neighborhoods.

The Human Condition: The trilogy explores the depths of the human psyche, with characters motivated by love, ambition, revenge, and justice. It delves into the complexities of human nature, shedding light on the multifaceted aspects that shape individuals and their choices.

As the characters navigate the intricate webs of power, deception, and betrayal, they are confronted with philosophical questions that challenge their beliefs and understanding of the world around them. The narrative intertwines action-packed sequences with moments of introspection, offering readers a thought-provoking journey through the shadows of struggle in urban environments.

Jesus really loves his Father, God. He loves him despite the fact that his Father has become a dejected, isolated, rude, lazy noodle that despises humanity, his supposed perfect creation. So, he does what any good son would do, and hosts an intervention for his Father in a rec center.

The plan is this: send the Almighty Father back to Earth, stripped of his power, in hopes that he rekindles his love for humanity (and becomes less of a dick in the process). A decent plan, except for the fact that the man who architected the plan and convinced Jesus that it was a good idea, the Archangel Gabriel, is a sociopath, albeit a handsome one, that wants God dead and to rule Heaven for his own. The Archangel even hires Satan, a known entity in the world of evil, to kill God once he enters the Earthly domain.

It's Revelation, baby. The end times. Just a little different than how the Bible thought it would unravel, though.

Customer reviews:

"A funny, exciting story. "A Perfect Creation," from start to finish, delivers laughs. This book, while often funny and light, also has depth in its discussion of what being human is. "A Perfect Creation" delivers on all fronts." Amazon.com

"Humorous Read, Leaves You Thinking. An easy read that is full of humor! The characters are charming and get ready for a twist. the dialogue often leaves you questioning your relationship with your own version of faith, so despite being light hearted, I left the book with some philosophical musings." Happy birthday. Let’s go to hell.

When nineteen-year-old Eliza enrolls in a UCLA history class—taught by handsome, enigmatic professor Oliver Crowley—she vows to solve the mystery that is her professor, which leads to a terrifying quest full of demons, homunculi, zombie gang bangers, and an obnoxious stepmother. But, can she confront the most frightening creature of all—herself?

Eliza and The Alchemist takes readers on a macabre journey from the golden age of film to gang-ridden East Los Angeles, and to the very gates of hell.

Private investigator Angelo Barsotti is just getting by, moonlighting as a bartender at a cop bar and obsessing over the murder of his wife, which he’s been unable to solve for two years. When tech giant Grant Dogon tries to hire him to get his best friend and former platoon comrade, Craig, out of jail, Angelo wants nothing to do with the case. Craig Mazer, who is accused of killing his wife, Helen, has no alibi. But Grant comes bearing a briefcase of cash and a refusal to take no for an answer.

As Angelo reluctantly investigates the case, with his enthusiastic associate and friend, Lewis, all roads lead to Dogon Tech, where Craig works for Grant. Why is a tech security firm having so many security breaches of its own? What is Grant hiding before the company’s public offering? As Angelo tries to uncover these secrets, he’s met with lie after lie. Is he putting himself and others in danger by pursuing this angle?

While working this case, new clues about Angelo’s wife emerge from an unexpected source, but he must solve who killed Helen Mazer first. Will Angelo be able to see through the lies to find the truth and finally solve what happened to his wife?

LEAN CLOSER. Let these stories whisper poison into your ears.

This debut full length collection from Norman Prentiss opens with the Bram Stoker Award-winning title story, where an overheard conversation in a movie theater has unexpected effects on a couple's relationship.

In other unsettling tales: suffer the consequences of an ill-timed Halloween prank; encounter strange creatures in the woods or in an airport waiting room; visit an abandoned amusement park or a secluded town of oddly shaped inhabitants; confront a sinister murderer who seems to be everywhere at once, or meet a man who simply can't be bothered to die.

The collection concludes with "Four Legs in the Morning," the first appearance of Dr. Sibley, a mysterious college professor who enacts revenge on those who defy or disappoint him; and the full-text of the Stoker-winning novella, "Invisible Fences."

NORMAN PRENTISS is the author of Odd Adventures With Your Other Father and Life In a Haunted House, and he won the 2010 Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in Long Fiction for Invisible Fences, also published by Cemetery Dance Publications. He also won a 2009 Stoker for his short story, "In the Porches of My Ears," published in Postscripts 18. Other publications include The Book of Baby Names, The Fleshless Man, Four Legs in the Morning, The Halloween Children (written with Brian James Freeman), and The Narrator (written with Michael McBride). His website is: normanprentiss.com

"Prentiss’s understated style works excellently for the subject matter—there’s a creeping menace under many of his stories that worms its way beneath the reader’s skin before it can even be noticed. Weird fiction readers will find a lot to love here." - Publisher's Weekly

"The monsters at the heart of Norman Prentiss's disquieting, deceptively hushed fiction are overheard conversations, misunderstood gestures, the things both partners in a relationship have agreed never to say. At least until those things sprout teeth, fur, the ability to curse, and turn into even more terrifying monsters." - Glen Hirshberg, author of Infinity Dreams and the Motherless Children trilogy.

"I've never forgotten a Norman Prentiss story. He builds his nightmares gently, word by word, sentence by sentence, working his way into your subconscious so that you are never sure again if it happened to you, or you dreamt it, or it was a Prentiss story." - Kaaron Warren, Award-Winning author of Through Splintered Walls, The Grinding House, and Dead Sea Fruit.

One early Saturday morning, Luna and Ania ran down the stairs hoping to find out what little Benji was up to.

“Mommy! Daddy! What is Benji doing?” called the two enthusiastic sisters as they jumped onto the couch.

Mom and Dad braced for impact as two incredibly excited big sisters tumbled over cushions and pillows and finally landed between them.

“Girls, be careful around mommy,” reminded Dad as he hugged his daughters. “We wouldn’t want to bump into little Benji’s house.” exclaimed Luna.

“But we’re so excited to meet our new little brother!”

“Can you please tell us what Benji is doing today dad?” added Ania with a huge smile on her face.

A house on a couch? Between their mom and dad? That seems like an impossible place to live. Plus, who is Benji?

Benji is a baby. He’s actually the littlest kind of baby. That is because he hasn’t been born yet. His house is really interesting because it’s inside his mom’s belly, where he lives and grows every day. And while it may seem like a small space for a baby to live, it’s actually quite an amazing wonderland with many activities to keep a baby occupied. Benji is a very busy little guy, and his sisters’ favorite thing to do is listen as their dad tells them all the fun adventures and activities keeping little Benji busy.
